Business Development

Steve LaVersa
Partner, Head of Business Development

Mr. LaVersa has 30 years of industry experience and oversees Gramercy’s Business Development and Investor Relations teams. He is responsible for developing relationships with prospective investors, consultants and clients in the United States and Europe.

Prior to joining Gramercy in February of 2011, Mr. LaVersa was Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Tower Lane Partners, an outsourced business development firm that specializes in the alternative asset management business. Prior to his tenure at Tower Lane Partners, he spent nearly six years at FrontPoint Partners, most recently as Managing Director, Co-Head of the Client Advisory Group. From 1997 to 2003, Mr. LaVersa was a Vice President in the Asset Management group at Goldman Sachs. He began his career at Federated Investors where he worked from 1987-1997.

Mr. LaVersa received a BA in Economics and History from Denison University.

Joe Griffin
Managing Director, Business Development

Mr. Griffin has 17 years of industry experience. At Gramercy, he focuses on new business development across a diverse set of institutional investors, including endowments/foundations, pension plans, fund of funds and high net worth investors such as private banking platforms, family offices.

Prior to joining Gramercy in September 2009, Mr. Griffin was employed by Lazard Asset Management for nine years where he was a Senior Vice President in the Institutional Marketing Group. He was responsible for developing new relationships and servicing existing clients in the corporate pension market segment.

Mr. Griffin received a BA in Economics from Wesleyan University in 2000.

Milton Koenigsberger
Senior Vice President, Business Development

Mr. Koenigsberger has 20 years of experience as a high achieving business development professional with a proven track record of opening and developing new territories. At Gramercy, Mr. Koenigsberger focuses on developing relationships with prospective investors, consultants and clients, specializing in capital raising for Gramercy’s long-only equity products.

Prior to joining Gramercy in February 2011, Mr. Koenigsberger developed a sales team targeting Fortune 100 companies for Sealed Air Corporation, where he accounted for a large portion of the business developed while earning the President’s Club Award in multiple years.  Prior to his seven year tenure at Sealed Air Corporation, Mr. Koenigsberger worked for Reynolds & Reynolds for seven years as a Regional Account Manager. At Reynolds & Reynolds, he consistently placed in the top 10% of company sales nationwide and was also named Rookie of the Year in 1997.

Mr. Koenigsberger received a BS in Biological Science from California Polytechnic State University.

Jennifer Mandes
Senior Vice President, Business Development

Ms. Mandes has ten years of industry experience. At Gramercy, Ms. Mandes focuses on developing relationships with prospective investors, consultants and clients.

Prior to joining Gramercy, Ms. Mandes was employed by Avenue Capital Group, a distressed debt firm which invests in public and private debt and equity securities of distressed companies across various industries. At Avenue, Ms. Mandes spent four years raising capital and developing client relationships. She was charged with sourcing, organizing and conducting calls and meetings, coordinating prospective investor events and preparing customized marketing materials. Prior to Avenue, Ms. Mandes was an Investor Relations and Client Service Associate at Silver Point Capital, a distressed debt hedge fund.

Ms. Mandes received a BA in Sociology from Harvard University.
