BUSINESS MANAGEMENT

Scott Seaman
Senior Partner, Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Seaman has 35 years of business management experience. Mr. Seaman has executive oversight of the firm’s business areas including accounting, operations, legal, risk management, business development and investor relations, technology, human resources and administration. Mr. Seaman is the Chair of Gramercy’s Risk Management Committee and Valuation Committee. Further, he is a member of Gramercy’s Management Committee and Compliance Committee.

Prior to joining Gramercy in June 2002, Mr. Seaman spent 16 years at J.P. Morgan in several management and control roles.  He was the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of J.P. Morgan Fleming Asset Management’s Hedge Funds Group and Real Estate Investment Group from 2000 to 2002, where he was responsible for business growth and operational integrity. From 1998 to 2000, he was the Manager of the Emerging Markets Strategic Planning Group at J.P. Morgan Securities Inc. and responsible for building a global office network. From 1992 to 1997, Mr. Seaman was head of Emerging Markets Business Analysis and Development at J.P. Morgan Securities, Inc. where he was instrumental in building new products and managing a complex control structure. Prior to joining J.P. Morgan Securities, Inc., he was a Vice President in the J.P. Morgan & Co. Audit Group where he specialized in management consulting to new and rapidly growing sales and trading businesses. From 1984 to 1986, he was a Senior Audit Analyst at Ernst & Whinney.

Mr. Seaman received a MBA in Finance from New York University – Stern Graduate School of Business and a BS in Accounting with a minor in Economics at Long Island University – CW Post Center School of Professional Accountancy where he graduated Summa Cum Laude.

OPERATIONS

Ross Rosen
Senior Vice President, Head of Operations

Mr. Rosen has 12 years of industry experience. At Gramercy, Mr. Rosen is primarily responsible for performance calculations, trading compliance and facilitation of the trade settlement process. Additionally, he maintains and monitors trading systems and assists with the supervision of the Firm SOC1 procedures.

Prior to joining Gramercy in 2017, Mr. Rosen was an Operations Manager with Monarch Alternative Capital LP where he was responsible for managing the daily operations functions, including trade processing, cash flow management, and maintaining relationship with prime brokers. Previously, he was employed at Elliott Management Corp. where he was an Operations Analyst and was responsible for reconciliations, and daily trade settlements and confirmations. Mr. Rosen began his career at Bear Sterns as a Government Operations Analyst.

Mr. Rosen received a BBA in Finance from Hofstra University.

Jelena Ivic
Vice President, Operations

Ms. Ivic has 9 years of industry experience. At Gramercy, Ms. Ivic is primarily responsible for performance calculations, fund reconciliations, facilitation of the trade settlement process and assisting with the Firm SOC1 process.

Prior to joining Gramercy in 2017, Ms. Ivic was a Senior Portfolio Administrator at Shenkman Capital Management, where she was responsible for reconciliations, assisted with settlements, communicated with trustees and custodians, and reviewed internal and external reporting. Previously, she was as a Portfolio Administrator, where she processed client cash, and resolved settlement issues and cash discrepancies. Ms. Ivic began her career at Shenkman as a Portfolio Administration Assistant, in which she assisted a team of 16 portfolio administrators with trade support, reconciliations, bank loans and corporate actions.

Ms. Ivic received her BA in Economics and Political Science from the University of Connecticut.

ACCOUNTING

Bob Joannou, CPA
Partner, Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Joannou has 17 years of financial management and control experience. As Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Joannou manages all the world-wide accounting and financial reporting obligations of the Firm inclusive of the client funds and Gramercy management company. Such oversight includes daily and monthly analysis and reporting, annual audited financial statements, cash projections and controls, expense management, tax analysis and statements, management dashboards, and special analytical projects as requested by senior management. Mr. Joannou heads the Firm's SSAE 18 SOC1 Type II compliance team and also assists the CCO and CLO with regulatory compliance.

Prior to joining Gramercy in February 2007, Mr. Joannou was a Capital Project Director for the National Railroad Passenger Corporation, located in New York, NY where he managed over $800MM worth of infrastructure projects. As Project Director, he was responsible for creating and tracking multiple budgets, organizing cross-functional working groups, analyzing project risk, and awarding contracts after design review. Mr. Joannou’s management increased efficiency and productivity and resulted in higher operating capacity.

Mr. Joannou received a MBA in Management from Centenary College and a BBA in Banking and Finance from Hofstra University. Additionally, he is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York.

Bob Young, CPA
Managing Director

Mr. Young has 30 years of industry experience, 21 of which he has spent at Gramercy. Mr. Young provides confidential specialty accounting and tax advice for partners, management companies and high net worth investors. He represents Gramercy management companies and partners in various tax matters and audits and assist investors and/or investor representatives with tax related issues.

Prior to joining Gramercy in June 1998, Mr. Young was the Controller/CFO for Tivoli Partners, L.P., a startup hedge fund where he was responsible for all of the accounting and operational functions of the Fund. From 1996 to 1997, Mr. Young was an Assistant Controller at Refco Capital Markets Ltd. where he supervised the daily P&L calculations for several groups including the emerging markets group. Prior to Refco, he worked at Seneca Capital, L.P. where he served as Controller and Fund Administrator for their domestic and offshore funds. From 1992 to 1996 he served as a manager at Goldstein, Golub, Kessler & Company where he specialized in performing audits of investment partnerships. From 1989 to 1992 he served as a Senior Accountant at Sobel & Company.

Mr. Young received a BS in Public Accounting at Rutgers University. Additionally, he is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York.

Dennis Wilson, CPA
Managing Director, Controller

Mr. Wilson joined Gramercy in May 2011 and has 19 years of accounting and industry experience. He is responsible for the oversight and management of all fund accounting matters, works on the set up and implementation of new accounts, provides review support for daily, weekly and monthly reconciliations and acts as a liaison with Gramercy’s external administrators. Additionally, Mr. Wilson assists with client reporting matters and financial statement preparation and review. He has extensive experience in all accounting and tax matters of fund products, investments and managed accounts.

Most recently, Mr. Wilson served as CFO of Quattro Global Capital for two years and CFO for Vestry Capital during the prior year. Mr. Wilson previously served for two years as CFO/CCO of Emerging Sovereign Group from 2006 to 2008. From 2004 to 2006 he was a fund accountant at Omega Advisors. Previous to his time at Omega Advisors, he was a Senior Associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers in their Investment Management Audit Group.

Mr. Wilson has a BS in Accounting from Pennsylvania State University. Additionally, he is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York.

Janelle Mahovich, CPA
Vice President, Fund Accountant

Ms. Veloce has 9 years of fund accounting and auditing experience. As a member of Gramercy’s Fund Accounting team, she assists with all aspects of the day to day fund accounting activities, month-end reporting and annual financial statement preparation and review.

Prior to joining Gramercy in May 2014, Ms. Veloce was employed by Chilton Investment Company, where she was a Fund Accountant. At Chilton, she was responsible for full reconciliations of Chilton records to administrators, prime brokers, custodians, calculating monthly NAV for all funds, and providing cash data in order to determine availability for various fund activities. Prior to Chilton, Ms. Veloce was a Senior Assurance Associate at McGladrey Pullen, LLP. At McGladrey she prepared financial statements, planned and executed financial statement audits and analyzed budgets. She was also charged with supervising and training new team members.

Ms. Veloce received a BS in Accounting from Iona College. Additionally, she is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Connecticut. 

David Corcoran, CPA, CFA
Senior Vice President, Assistant Controller

Mr. Corcoran has 8 years of accounting experience. As a member of Gramercy’s Fund Accounting team, he assists with all aspects of the day to day fund accounting activities, month-end reporting and financial statement preparation and review.

Prior to joining Gramercy, Mr. Corcoran was employed by Lindsay Goldberg LLC, where he was responsible for the accounting and reporting across multiple private equity funds. He also assumed responsibility for managing fund expenses, cash balances and credit facility activity. Prior to Lindsay Goldberg LLC, Mr. Corcoran served as a Financial Associate in the Treasury Department at JPMorgan, where he managed the quarterly financial reporting, consolidated and reviewed reporting submissions, led submission review meetings and reviewed valuation model testing. Prior to JPMorgan, Mr. Corcoran was an Assurance Associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers. In this role, Mr. Corcoran participated in a variety of assurance engagements, performed valuation model testing, and built strong client relationships.

Mr. Corcoran received a BA in Political Science from Binghamton University and received a Master of Science in Accounting from the University of Albany. Additionally, he is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York and a CFA Charterholder.

Daniel Jensen, CPA
Vice President, Fund Accountant

Mr. Jensen has 6 years of accounting experience. As a member of Gramercy’s Fund Accounting team, he is responsible for reconciling Gramercy’s commingled funds and managed accounts, liaising with fund administrators and auditors, preparing financial statements and tax information and monitoring daily cash and expense payments. 

Prior to joining Gramercy, Mr. Jensen was an Audit Senior in the Financial Services practice at Deloitte & Touche LLP where he was responsible for financial statement audits and interim reviews of hedge funds, commodity pools and private equity clients.  He reviewed footnote disclosures related to fair valuation, capital allocations and financial highlights.  He also assessed reasonableness of client valuation models over private investments by testing fair value assumptions, including capitalization rates and other cash flow inputs.  Additionally, Mr. Jensen supervised associates and reviewed the work of audit staff and specialists.

Mr. Jensen received his BS in Accounting from Fordham University. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York.

Meaghan Vernazza, CPA
Vice President, Fund Accountant

Mrs. Vernazza has 8 years of accounting experience. As a member of Gramercy’s Fund Accounting team, she is responsible for reconciling Gramercy’s commingled funds and managed accounts, preparing audited financial statements, reviewing Schedule K-1s, and assists in various Accounting projects and tasks (financial statement analysis, budgeting, reporting obligations and filings).

Prior to joining Gramercy in July 2018, Mrs. Vernazza worked at Capital Partners as a Fund Controller where she was responsible for preparing financial statements, quarterly updates, investor statements, reviewed tax returns, analyzed bank reconciliations and managed cash for ten entities. Mrs. Vernazza also worked at Greenfield Partners as a Senior Fund Accountant where she was responsible for the annual budgeting process for assigned investments, managed available cash for two Funds and determined appropriate distributions to investors and analyzed investment level preferred return schedules, internal rate of return schedules and waterfall calculations. She began her career at Ernst & Young.

Mrs. Vernazza received a BS in Accounting from Fairfield University. Additionally, she is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of New Jersey.

Joshua O'Melia, JD
Managing Director, Chief Legal Officer

Marc Zelina, JD
Senior Vice President, Counsel

Mr. Zelina joined Gramercy's legal department in February 2019 with 12 years of industry experience. In this role, Mr. Zelina is responsible for assisting in matters related to portfolio investments, company restructurings, as well as internal fund and management company structuring. 

Prior to joining Gramercy, Mr. Zelina was a Restructuring Associate at Latham & Watkins LLP from 2013 to 2019 where he advised secured and unsecured creditors, purchasers and distressed companies in all facets of restructuring transactions both in and out of court. He also advised corporates and sponsors in a variety of financing transactions and fund formations.

Mr. Zelina received his J.D. from Fordham University, graduating cum laude, and received a B.A. in International Business from Rollins College.

TECHNOLOGY

Michael Harris
Partner, Chief Technology Officer

Mr. Harris has 22 years of industry experience, 16 of which have been spent at Gramercy. Mr. Harris runs all aspects of the technology department. His vast knowledge of programming languages enables Mr. Harris to update and maintain the development of all end-of-day reports, adjust code on a regular basis to meet the ever changing needs of the users and design programs to assist in the day-to-day operations of all of Gramercy’s departments. Mr. Harris researches, implements and administers new technologies ensuring that Gramercy’s technology is both SOC1 compliant and cutting edge. Additionally, he develops, manages and maintains the company’s websites and databases. On a daily basis, Mr. Harris collaborates with his team on various help desk issues, building and customizing computers, as well as designing and supervising all networks on a global level.

Prior to joining Gramercy in July 2002, Mr. Harris worked at LiveTechnology, Inc. He developed company intranets, extranets, and other web sites for many leading companies, such as Coca-Cola, Omnicom, and Shell/Texaco. He also created web sites and web applications at UGO.com. Mr. Harris worked at Internet Security Systems, Inc. (ISS) where he deployed ISS security products across large corporations’ networks. He started his career at American Management Systems, Inc. as a programmer and database administrator.

Mr. Harris received a BS in Computer Science from Binghamton University.

Gene Farberov
Senior Vice President, Head of IT Infrastructure & Cybersecurity

Mr. Farberov has 15 years of technology experience. He is responsible for the installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems (hardware and software) and related infrastructure. Mr. Farberov researches and develops new technology which enables continuing innovation of the infrastructure and ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational standards.

Prior to joining Gramercy in May 2011, Mr. Farberov worked at Eze Castle where he was responsible for the maintenance of all IT services for various hedge fund clients. His work included working with Windows based servers, individual PC’s and laptops and various other software applications. Prior to that, Mr. Farberov worked as a Systems Administrator for both GKH Law Offices and the Israel Defense Force.

Mr. Farberov attended the Open University of Israel where he studied Management and Computer Science, Systems & Applications.

Quentin Fleurat
Senior Vice President, Technology

Mr. Fleurat has 23 years of technology related experience including installing, configuring, and managing databases. At Gramercy, he focuses on database management and development, creating software solutions to solve business challenges, and implementing new programs to support all Gramercy departments in creating capacity, enhancing risk management and enabling efficiencies. On a daily basis, Mr. Fleurat collaborates with the technology team on various help desk issues, building and customizing computers, as well as designing and supervising all networks on a global level.

Prior to joining Gramercy in November 2012, Mr. Fleurat worked for Bresnan Communications/Cablevision in various roles. Most recently, he was a consultant focused on SQL Server and SharePoint development projects. Cablevision purchased Bresnan Communications in 2010 and Mr. Fleurat led the migration and adaption of all of Bresnan Communications applications, web portals, and call center applications (that he originally developed) over to the Cablevision platform. Prior to the acquisition, he was the Director of IT Programming for Bresnan Communications where he developed software solutions throughout the company and built large-scale capacity and archival databases.

Mr. Fleurat attended Westchester Community College. 

Carlos Aguilar
Vice President, Technology

Mr. Aguilar has over 17 years of technology experience. At Gramercy, Mr. Aguilar is responsible for maintaining and developing corporate applications to support the growing needs of the Firm. He also supports company databases including identifying opportunities to create new reports and analytics. 

Prior to joining Gramercy, Mr. Aguilar spent ten years at Franklin Templeton where he held positions as a Software Developer, and most recently as a Systems Architect in the Investment Risk Innovation team. During his tenure there, Mr. Aguilar was a key contributor to the development of several risk applications, web dashboards, and was instrumental in the creation of several risk-oriented fund analysis tools. Mr. Aguilar started his career as a Webmaster for Orbisat and then spent four years as an Infrastructure Consultant at General Electric.

Mr. Aguilar earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Systems Engineering from Universidad Valle de Bravo in Sinaloa, Mexico.

Alex Soto
Associate, Senior Help Desk

Mr. Soto has 6 years of technology experience. As a member of the Gramercy Technology team, Mr. Soto is responsible for providing desktop and infrastructure support including research and development of new technology to support the growing needs of the Firm. 

Prior to joining Gramercy, Mr. Soto worked at Country Bank as a Systems Administrator where he was responsible for Help Desktop/System Administration and an active participant on their Technology Committee where he collaborated on strategic developments. Prior to Country Bank, Mr. Soto worked as a Systems Administrator at Basso Capital Management for 3 years. Mr. Soto started his career in 2013 at Greenwich Computer and Solutions where he was a Helpdesk and Field Technician.

HR & ADMINISTRATION

Theresa Carpenter
Senior Vice President, Head of Administration

Ms. Carpenter is Robert Koenigsberger’s dedicated Executive Assistant. At Gramercy, Ms. Carpenter provides comprehensive administrative support to Robert Koenigsberger and responds to various inquires and requests on his behalf. Ms. Carpenter handles business related matters including topical research and deeper relationship support with clients.

Prior to joining Gramercy, Ms. Carpenter served as the Senior Executive Assistant to the Co-CEOS at Bregal Investments for eight years. In this role, she was charged with providing comprehensive support to CEOs, as well as handling office management duties. Additionally, Ms. Carpenter researched and implemented IT business solutions for the New York office. Prior to Bregal Investments, Ms. Carpenter spent eight years as a Senior Associate at Lehman Brothers where she designed and developed monthly training programs, managed junior research analysts, participated in recruiting and hiring for her department, and designed and implemented internal webpages to house training resources.

Ms. Carpenter received a Bachelor of Business Marketing & Management from Pace University. She also has an AA in Liberal Arts from New York University and a Certificate in Human Resources Practices from Cornell University.

Estela Moscoso
Associate, Executive Assistant

Ms. Moscoso joined Gramercy in March 2019 as an Executive Assistant. An industry veteran with over 22 years of experience supporting C-level executives, her expertise includes office operations, administrative support and project management.

Prior to joining Gramercy, Ms. Moscoso supported the Global Head of Talent Acquisition at AQR Capital Management, where she helped manage high-level executive searches and created new processes to improve team function and efficiency.

From 2006 through 2017, Ms. Moscoso supported the Head of National Sales at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management. In addition to providing high-level administrative support, she managed department real estate across the tristate area, oversaw the travel and expense process for National Sales, and organized philanthropic events benefitting youths in need. 

Ms. Moscoso graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Mercy College Summa Cum Laude.

Nicole Salerno
Associate, Administrative Assistant

Ms. Salerno joined Gramercy in February 2019 with over eighteen years of experience as an Executive Assistant. At Gramercy, Ms. Salerno provides administrative support to the Credit and Capital Solutions teams. 

Prior to joining Gramercy, Ms. Salerno spent four years at Bregal Sagemount as the Executive Assistant to a Senior Partner. In this role, she was responsible for all aspects of administrative support including organizing travel, coordinating meetings and scheduling firm events. Additionally, Ms. Salerno spent four years at Morgan Stanley providing high-level administrative support as Executive Assistant to the COO of the Hedge Fund Group.

Ms. Salerno received a BA in Psychology from Stony Brook University and received a Master of Secondary English Education from Hunter College's School of Education.

Mary Rowley
Professional, Administrative Assistant

Ms. Rowley joined Gramercy in October 2018 as an Administrative Assistant. In her role she is responsible for managing the reception desk, organizing the day-to-day office activities for the Greenwich employees, and providing administrative support as needed. Ms. Rowley currently works closely with the Chief Legal Officer, the Head of Special Situations and the Head of Administration, providing assistance with calendar management, legal projects, expense processing and domestic and international travel arrangements.

Ms. Rowley received a B.S. in Psychology from Trinity College.
